Nick D'Amato > Luck was with me as a colorful sunset, a departing Norfolk Southern freight train, and an arriving Amtrak train all converge on Raleigh at the same time.
Nick D'Amato > Follow the bouncing red ball as NS 349 heads west out of Raleigh into a gorgeous summer sunset. The flashing light is the End Of Train (EOT) device.
Nick D'Amato > The Cary Photographic Artists group catches the southbound Silver Meteor as it streaks into downtown Cary on a hot summer night.
Nick D'Amato > The Northbound Carolinian rounds a curve, coming into view of eager passengers on the platform of the new Durham, NC station.
Nick D'Amato > Passengers take a break to stretch their legs or catch a smoke as the southbound Silver Star sits at the platform in Raleigh. A large crowd in the station awaits their chance to board the train bound for warmer climes.
Nick D'Amato > Durham's new bus station is ablaze with light on a rainy fall night, as Amtrak's eastbound Piedment train picks up passengers at the new train station in the background. The new transportation facilities have drastically improved the experience of public transit in the city.
