The tram up to Glenwood Adventure Park affords a spectacular view of Glenwood Springs and the Colorado River as it flows westward.
Glenwood Springs is one of Amtrak's busier rural stations in the west, as vacationers flock to the hot springs and nearby ski resorts. Here the westbound California Zephyr pulls into the station as an eastbound coal train waits to depart on the next track. The historic Hotel Colorado is visible on the far left, as is the Glenwood Hot Springs pool.
The the east, Glenwood Canyon rises steeply surrounding the Colorado River. On the left side of the river I-70 hugs the canyon walls, one of the the last and most expensive pieces of the interstate highway system to be constructed. One of several tunnels is visible in the lower left near the bend in the river.
